x The utensil contest

x I'm in a participatory-theater show taking place on a square stage surrounded by amphitheater seats. About 10 of us are onstage. We're all up to our waists in soapy, bubbly water, and we're wearing thick boots and yellow rubber gloves. Each of us is next to a tall marble pedestal, and on each pedestal is a plastic utensil basket from a dishwasher.

At our feet -- under the bubbly water -- are forks, knives, spoons, and other kitchen utensils. Due to the fluffy bubbles, we can't see them; we just have to bend down and feel around for things to pick up. We all have five minutes to gather as much silverware as we can and arrange the pieces in the baskets. At the end, we'll be judged -- whoever has the most aesthetically pleasing arrangement will win! The contest starts, and I find lots of egg beaters. I'm pleased and think: "These are cool. The judges will like them." Sadly, I wake up before judging can commence.
